Finding Scores

Using theLibrary Catalog

 

If you know the composer:

Choose author search or author from the pull-down menu, type in the composer's name and press enter or return. You may
choose the limit/sort option at the top of the results page. Select printed music (the catalog
uses printed music instead of score) from the Material Type limit, and click on the limit/sort
items retrieved using above data
bar.

You will have, at the very least, limited out all of the recordings of and books about this composer.

If you know the composer and the title of the work:

Choose author/title search. Type the composer's name in the search box, tab down to the title box
and type in keywords from the title of the work.

 

If you retrieve a long list of results, go through the limit/sort process again to narrow your results
to printed music.

 

If you know the composer, the title, and the instrumentation of the work:

You may want to try a keyword search using multiple search boxes.
