Recent issues of magazines and journals are located

indicated in the record for each title in the libraries'
online catalog. Locations for current issues in Burling
include the current periodicals area on the first floor,
the circulation desk, the Black
Library (second floor), East
Asian Collection (second floor) and, in a few cases,
the Reference Collection (first floor).
Bound volumes, that is, individual issues of journals
and magazines (usually after the current year) that have
been bound together, are shelved alphabetically on the third

Newspapers are kept on the first floor of Burling
Library next to the current periodicals
shelves. As new issues arrive the superseded editions are
taken to the microform

are kept in containers, in alphabetical order, on top of
the microfiche cabinets. After a designated period of time,
newspapers are discarded. Many of them are replaced with
microfilm copies.

the microform room
in the basement of Burling. Microfilm is arranged alphabetically.
Microfiche may be in alphabetical order, Library of Congress
