Cataloging

Members of the Libraries' Cataloging Department provide access to the materials in the Libraries' collections by creating or verifying bibliographic records which are then added to INNOPAC, the Libraries' online catalog. These records include the following detail: author(s), title(s), publisher, publication date(s), and physical description. They are placed within a subject context through the use of the call number (which physically locates an item with like items) and subject headings (which conceptually brings like materials together in the catalog).

Members of the Cataloging Department work in the Technical Services area of Burling Library.
