Magoun Hall
(Chicago Hall)

Constructed: 1883. Razed in 1958 to provide space for construction of Burling Library.

Architect: Smith & Barnes Architects of New York.

Cost: Approximately $20,000 excluding grading and landscaping

Initial Functions: First and second levels initially held college and academy recitation rooms. Third story housed Music Conservatory, concert hall, and practice rooms. In 1914 the building housed the administrative offices of the college.
