The College Archives document the history of Grinnell College from its beginnings in Davenport to its current activities in Grinnell. Included are the minutes of the Trustees, papers of the Presidents of Grinnell College, and financial records of the Treasurer's Office.

Highlights of the Archives:

The Scarlet and Black (college newspaper), the Cyclone (college yearbook), the College Bulletin (course catalog), and literary publications are all available in the Archives.

Biographical information about Grinnell's alumni and faculty is available here and books written by faculty and alumni are displayed in the reading room.

Audio and video recordings of many convocations, lectures, theatre productions, dance and musical performances are available.

In addition, the archives maintains photographs, scrapbooks, and other materials which chronicle the life of Grinnell College.

How to find archival material

The College Archives includes a wide variety of materials. Record Groups are listed on the web and in finding aids kept in the Iowa Room. Iowa Room books may be listed in the library catalog or the Iowa Room card catalog. Other materials are listed only in the Iowa Room card catalog. Please consult with the archives staff for assistance in locating materials.
